Goals of 2016

2015 has been an amazing year. I was fortunate enough to travel a lot. I spent my time with amazing people. I’m looking forward to a new year. Here are some commitments I’ve made for myself.

Keeping up with my blog

I really enjoy writing my blog. It’s fun to get creative and really feel passionate about this hobby. It’s a great way to put my positive energy into something I enjoy. I’m thankful  for the friendships and connections I’ve made. I hope to grow even more next year

Spelling and grammar skills

Guys I know I suck at spelling and grammar LOL. Thank you so much for reading regardless of all my silly mistakes. It’s funny because in high school and college writing was actually my passion. I loved creative writing and making up fantasy stories. I actually won an award for creative writing from my state. (Believe it or not lol) Even in college my writing grades were always the highest. I took a creative writing class and my grades were always high regardless of my grammar errors. Maybe that’s why I didn’t take the time to perfect it. I wish it was something I took the time to learn. It’s never too late.

Reading more

I feel that reading more will help me become a better writer. It will help me expand my vocabulary. I really enjoy reading but I always say “I never have the time”. Which is a lie because I can definitely make the time for reading. I find a reading relaxing. If I have the time for social media and TV.. I should have the time to read.

Spending more time with my loved ones

My family is my entire heart. I love being around them. I love knowing my family is healthy and happy. Christmas really reminded me how much I love my family. All we did was laugh the entire night. Seeing my family laugh and joke like that filled my heart with joy. In 2016 I want to make sure that times like that happen more consecutively.

Saving money

I enjoy spending money lol. I also really  like having and saving money. Next year I want to spend less on materialistic things. I rather spend my money on entertainment or doing things that will become memories. I’m going to put myself on a strict budget. I’m going to only spend money on necessities.

Keeping my circle small

Over the years I’ve been learned that finding genuine people is really rare. I wish this wasn’t the case but it really is. I now know to surround myself with people that are genuinely good. I’ve been surrounding myself with people I know I can count on. I am really lucky to have these people in my life. These kinds of people have taught me how to be a better person. I know I have flaws but I  have  good intentions. I’m glad as I got older I let go of people who were only bringing me down. You are who you surround yourself with.

Growing my make up skills

No one is perfect. Every day I learn something new when it comes to make up. I know that sounds crazy but there is so much to learn. I’m one of those people who is always open to learning. I believe I have skills but make up artistry is continuously growing. Even the people who have been in the industry for years can’t say they know everything.

Healthy lifestyle

I’ve been going to the gym like crazy. I’ve made it a part of my life. Going to the gym no longer feels like something I am forced to do. I actually look forward to going now. I have so much more energy. I’m slowly beginning to see good results. It’s crazy what your body can do once you put your mind to it. I’ve lost 7 pounds and I’m extremely proud of that. Next year I plan on eating less junk and drinking less.

Staying clean and organized

It’s embarrassing to admit but I’m -an extremely messy person. It’s something that unfortunately I haven’t grown out of with age. Next year I am promising myself to be more organized.

Being more thankful

I’m extremely blessed. At times I forget just how I blessed I am. I know others are fighting a harder battle and still I complain about little things. I’m genuinely thankful of everything I have. I have a healthy and beautiful family. I work for an amazing company. My co workers are so beautiful and talented. Sometimes it’s easy to think “my life is so rough”. Once you look at the bigger picture you realize just how great life really is.

Wow this post was extremely honest. I hope you guys enjoyed and  continue to read my blog in the upcoming year. 2016 im so ready.

      1. Hi sorry to bother you as a complete stranger but I know almost nothing about tech, and you seem to have a good grasp…you liked a few paintings of mine at coreycollinsart.wordpress.com I was simply wondering if I have it set up so that anyone can leave a comment or if it’s blocked or anything….if you could just send a hi to a random painting so i can see how it works I’d appreciate it. Thanks

      2. TRULY SORRY! I’ll leave you be after this. I’m not sure how uniform these sites are but I left a comment on my own page from a different device….if I happen to look at that painting I see the comment….if I click on my notifications I do not see it. I can’t sell these if people cant tell me what they like obviously. Don’t suppose you have any advise for me?

  1. good luck with all of that!! I need to add “being more thankful” to my list. I tend to be ungrateful about my blessings or/and privileges in life sometimes
